Automobiles in German City Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Police stated they were alerted by a resident who discovered a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Around fifty vehicles have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Vehicles, walls and postboxes were marked, sometimes with swastikas, they announced in a release.

Police report they were notified during the night on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.

The liquid had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then discovered many other marked vehicles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Police state early analysis indicate the substance was likely human blood.

"There is still no clue as to its origin; investigators are currently not aware of any harm in connection with the incident," they stated.

Local authorities announced they were attempting "to solve the mystery" and have requested to the residents for tips.

A senior political figure commented the attack made him speechless and needed to be solved quickly.

"This act hits the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist attack half a decade ago," he wrote on online, recalling the murder of nine people by a gunman focusing on individuals of foreign heritage in February 2020.
